AO3: Demonstrate the ability to plan and construct media products using appropriate technical and creative skills.
This is my finished product of my magazine cover, contents page and double page spread.
To make this product I have used my Photoshop and newly found InDesign skills. When choosing my masthead design, I choose the ones I best liked from 'DaFont' then printed them out. I then asked my peers to give me feedback. This is the feedback I got back. When producing my magazine, I wanted to express a sense of sophistication as I know that my target audience has wide age range, so I wanted the font to be clear, sophisticated and have some wisdom within it to represent my older target audience. I choose the fourth one down because of this. AO2: Apply knowledge and understanding to show how meanings are created when analysing media products and evaluating their own practical work.
When taking the photography I wanted my models to look like the standard band and be placed within the 'band stance.' To link with the arty side of 'Art rock' I decided to splash varied colours of paint onto some paper. I will be able to Photoshop this within my magazine. Magazine Front cover sketch These are my sketches I drew with my initial ideas and thoughts together, to create the product. I have also annotated the sketches, to fully show my understanding of the code and conventions of a magazine and how I am going to use them within my product. I decided to make a audience profile to get to know my target audience more and to know their hobbies and interests, so I can put them and imply them into my magazine to attract them more and persuade them to buy the magazine. I based the theme of my audience profile on the image of David Bowie, I did this to experiment and practice with the colours for my magazine cover. AO4: Demonstrate the ability to undertake and apply appropriate research.
I made a questionnaire to get information from my target audience, so I can imply them to my magazine. For example question 9 helps me decide what to ask in an interview, which I will be doing in my double page spread. Below is the link to the questionnaire on the site I made it on, and images of the questions on the questionnaire. From doing this magazine I got the results- Q2- Radio/Music Channels and Social Media Q3- Articles and interviews of Bands/Artists Q5- Interviews with famous Bands/Artists Q6- Pink Floyd Q7- David Bowie Q8- Interviews, new music, concert info AO4: Demonstrate the ability to undertake and apply appropriate research.
